The children in the Wilson room have been very busy this month. We welcomed Heidi and Zac to the Wilson Room who were promoted from the Butler 2. The children have been involved in preparing the garden bed for the strawberry plants that were donated to us from Zara’s family. We learnt all about weeds and helped pull them out. Whilst we were weeding we found some giant worms hiding in the soil, this lead to a big conversation about why it was important for worms to be in our garden, and watching how they moved along. We have also been tending to our tulip and daffodil bulbs and with great interest are watching them sprouting and growing. The children have really enjoyed making telescopes out of tubes and using them to observe each other and the environment around Mountain View. This then lead to making our own box cars. It was wonderful to hear and observe the children as they played with their peers taking each other for a ride, negotiating how they could pass each other and reverse parking. It was amazing how many children would not get into their car without having a seat belt in place.
