During the month of April we have welcomed Johanna, Mason, Izak, Clark and Phoebe to the Wilson room and said goodbye to Isabella, Ella, Emily and Xanthe as they moved onto the Mitchell room. In April we have been talking about and exploring what our hands can do, how they can help us explore our environment and aid our development in practising our self help skills. We have been learning lots of new songs using actions with our hands that the children have been enjoying and requesting regularly to sing them
eg Wind the bobbin up, 12345,
Down in the meadow,
I am little teapot,
Open shut them give a little blink.
Together we created a poem about our hands “My two little hands have ten little fingers My ten little fingers can twinkle twinkle twinkle My hands can tickle, My hands can paint My ten little fingers can play My hands can hold my cup of milk My fingers can build with lego My hands can make a cake My ten little fingers can play the piano My hands hold onto the scooter to drive My mummy uses her hands to put a CD in the player My hands help build a farm My hands can do a pasting” Created by the Friday Wilson Children
