Blackmans Bay Child Care Centre has reached the highest possible level of accreditation.

The following is a letter from the National Childcare Accreditation Council Inc, in response to our last audit ...

"Congratulations on achieving Accreditation!

Interactions have all been rated as High Quality indicating that there are positive relationships between staff and children, and staff and parents.  This makes for a warm, friendly, caring and responsive environment for the children in care.  The Reviewer describes the atmosphere of the Centre as being welcome, friendly, pleasant, happy, calm and busy one and also described staff interactions with children as being quiet - a delightful combination.  Staff working as a team and being enthusiastic about their work provides excellent role modelling for the children.  The stability of staff is reassuring for parents.

Centre staff are to be congratulated for providing such a comprehensive program.  The use of many, varied opportunities for children to explore open-ended resources and to be creative is pleasing to see.   Staff are to be commended for introducing art works for the children to enjoy.   The Moderator Panel are also pleased to note the active presence of planning from observational data in Principles 20, 29 and 30 and are especially interested in the books the children make about themselves using photos.  Programming is a strength of this Centre indicating that staff have a firm grasp of child development and a thorough understanding of early childhood programming principles.

Nutrition, Health and Safety Principles are all of a high standard.  All policies and procedures are thorough and in place, having been developed in partnership with staff and parents.  The Centre provides a safe, secure and hygienic environment for the children.

Centre management is very efficient and highly supportive of the work being carried out in the rooms.  The Moderator Panel are pleased to note that staff are encouraged to engage in professional development opportunities.  The positive working relationship between Centre Management and staff, and Centre Management and parents, makes for a very harmonious Centre.

The Centre is now challenged to continue reflective and evaluative practices to maintain and extend the quality care already established."
