The
Buchan and Raindrop Rooms cater for 8 babies from 6 weeks to 1 year. The rooms are sunny, bright and
warm with an up-to-date hygienic nappy changing area, and a quiet sleeping room with
windows for the carers to observe the babies.

Apart
from 2 hourly change of nappies or when necessary if required more frequently, we do not
have a regular routine, as we find babies are individuals, and require to be treated as
such.
The room is divided
into active and quiet areas with windows at baby height, and various kinds of music are
provided to suit the mood of the time. Babies experience a rapid development in the
first year, we therefore aim to encourage the children to experience the environment
according to their ability. We have a variety of toys, books, soft toys, an outdoor
area, cushions, two swings and a baby slide.
A profile is kept on
each child where we observe and record the development of skills. Parents find these
of great interest.
